about the course

This level 1 skills course is split into 2 levels; complete beginner & novice. It aims to develop the necessary skills to control your bicycle and to make short trips on quiet roads or cycle tracks.

It is an essential element if you are a complete novice or wannabee bicycle belle in need of some TLC to help prepare you to advance to the Level 2 on road course.

i’m a complete beginner! what will I be able to do?

1.     Carry out a simple bike check
   

2.     Get on and off your bike without help
   

3.     Start off and pedal without help
   

4.     Stop without help
   

5.     Ride along without help for roughly one minute or more
   

6.     Make the bike go where you want it to go
   

We’ll have you free wheeling effortlessly in minutes without the need for mechanical or human stabilizers! 

i’m a wannabee bicycle belle! what will I be able to do that I can’t do now?

All of the above, plus:

1.     Use your gears
   

2.     Steer assertively to avoid objects
   

3.     Look around, including behind without wobbling
   

4.     Signal right and left without wobbling
   

5.     Carry out a simple bike check
