This level 2 skills course provides you with the cycle road craft skills to be able to cycle for leisure or commute to school or work on quieter roads

It is an essential element if you are a flirting with cycling and are in need of a boost of confidence to help prepare you to advance to the Level 3 on urban cycling course

You are the type of person who already knows how to use your gears, can steer to avoid objects and are able to look around, look behind and signal left and right without wobbling.   Prove that you can and we’ll coach you to:

1.     Start an on-road journey
   

2.     Finish an on-road journey
   

3.     Be aware of everything around you, including what’s behind as you ride
   

4.     Understand where and how to signal; your intentions to other road users
   

5.     Understand where to position yourself on the road you are using
   

6.     Pass parked or slow moving vehicles
   

7.     Pass side roads
   

8.     Turn right into a major road and left into a minor road
   

9.     Turn left into a major road and right into a minor road
   

10.     Take the correct carriage-way lane when you need to
    

11.     Decide where cycle lanes can help your journey and demonstrate correct use
    

12.     Explain why you have made decisions during your ride thereby demonstrating to
    

         us your understanding of an assertive riding strategy

1.     Interpret road signs demonstrating your understanding of the Highway Cod
