about the course

This level 3 skills course is designed to give you the cycle road craft skills and understanding to commute to school and work or cycle for leisure on busy roads using complex junctions and road features.

It is an essential element if you are a bike flirt wanting to experience true freedom and independence you’ve never before dreamt possible!

i’m a competent bike flirt! what will I be able to do that I can’t do now?

You’ll need to demonstrate that you can master the skills outlined in level 2 before e take you out onto busy main roads.   We’ll first assess you can do what you say you can do on quiet back streets before getting into the urban traffic groove to:

1.     Master mini and major roundabouts
   

2.     Craft the art to use junctions controlled by traffic lights assertively
   

3.     Become a multi-lane road user and make complex turns to left and right
   

4.     Use filtering systems correctly demonstrating when to wait and when to filter
   

5.     Get the best out of both on and off road cycle facilities
   

6.     Identify advance hazards along the road and implement a strategy to deal with t
   

         them

1.     Plan you complex cycle routes to unleash your true freedom and potential

We’ve developed our Cycle Diva coaching sessions further to include refresher courses for those of you wanting to brush up on your urban cycle road craft techniques.

By urban, we mean cycling in heavy traffic conditions and/or narrow roads which are often a major part of the road networks around cities and busy market towns.

Our Road Diva course will help you to filter past other road users at junctions, beat the traffic queues using correct road positioning to get to the front and use assertive body language and actual hand signals to dominate your space by requesting permission to move.

It’s you choice. You can opt to use our 2 way remote controlled radios and headsets to stay in touch with your Instructor who’ll be protecting your back space using shepherding techniques. 

So, if you’ve never fancied that 7 exit roundabout on your commute to the shops or work or have jumped off your bike at a major traffic light junction, we’ll give you the confidence to cycle assertively to eradicate the time spent off your bike and increase the time spent on it!
